Villagers beheaded and homes torched in Northern Mozambique.
More than 2,000 people have been killed and 300,000 displaced over the past three years following attacks by fighters linked to Isil.
As the security threat from the armed group has grown significantly in recent months, the lives of many more are now at risk.
The fighters seized a key port for weeks in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province in August.
The area is near offshore gas projects worth tens of billions of dollars.
The government has been struggling to contain the fighters and is urging the international community to help. – Subscribe to our channel: http://aje.io/AJSubscribe – Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AJEnglish – Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aljazeera – Check our website: https://www.aljazeera.com/ #AlJazeeraEnglish #InsideStory #Mozambique
