Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe Veterinary ophthalmologists in Nizhny Novgorod have carried out an examination of all animals residing in the city's Limpopo Zoo for the first time in the history of Russian zoological gardens. According to the zoo's press centre, specialists from Moscow-based from the Perepechaev Centre conducted the examinations in the zoo. "Animals with visual deteriorations could have their behaviour changed. I mean, many predators become aggressive without a reason, but, in the reality, they don't see well and don't understand what is going on around them," explained Konstantin Perepechaev, head of Perepechaev Veterinary Ophthalmological Centre. “Many ophthalmic diseases of pets and wild animals are genetically conditioned. When we examine the eyesight, we see if an animal has good eyesight and it will give birth to genetically healthy offspring. It is very important," he added.
